Today I informed the head of school that I do not plan to return next year.
“Are you retiring, he asked?”
“No, I am exploring further my creative and innovative instincts while being able to pursue writing and thinking opportunities that have hitherto (does anyone even say that anymore?) been out of the question time-wise.”
“Well, I must say I am surprised,” he smiled.
That is exactly why I need to leave, I thought.
